Senior Marketing Executive

Overall Purpose

The Senior Marketing Executive plays an important role in marketing and selling Gateway’s programmes and activities. 

The Senior Marketing Executive is responsible for creating, developing and implementing marketing plans to sell Gateway’s programmes, products and activities.

Management of marketing budgets and evaluation on resulting financial returns are an essential component of this role. The Senior Marketing Executive also works closely with the Sales Manager and Programme Manager to ensure promotion of products/programmes are fully utilised and communicated.

He/She will have to benchmark marketing communications strategies, including advertising and promotions, and media relations for Gateway’s programmes and activities so as to create public awareness and maximise attendance and revenue for the Company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Explore, propose, plan, drive and monitor marketing communications strategies for Gateway’s programmes and activities
  • Build support, generate publicity and maximise attendance and revenue through activities such as advertising and promotions, direct marketing, media relations, database management, event management, and digital marketing
  • Responsible for the production of all promotional collateral and publicity materials, and all advertisements including promotional brochures, TV and radio advertisements, banners and posters, e-banners, etc
  • Manage the budget for Gateway’s programmes and collaborations
  • Keep up-to-date of market trends, and understand the programmes and approaches of key competitors
  • Implement market/audience research to better understand customer behaviour/trends, analyse findings and share insights
  • Establish a network of reliable media contacts to maximise publicity and contacts within the arts community
  • Cultivate ties with special interest groups, clubs and associations, media owners and buyers, as well as any other marketing partners to leverage opportunities to benefit Gateway, in terms of goodwill, marketing channels, media rates, promotional opportunities, etc


  • University degree in marketing or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ marketing/A&P experience
  • Experienced in all forms of social media
  • Good knowledge of social media marketing
  • Hands-on, self-motivated and naturally organised
  • Creative with good attention to detail
  • Proactive, task driven and positive attitude
  • Able to take initiative and effectively adapt to changes
  • Able to work efficiently and productively under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in time management with the ability to organise and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record in promotions, and marketing of events and activities
  • General knowledge of the arts will be an advantage
