Gateway Entertainment Scores Major Win in Joint Venture with China’s Juooo Theatre Company
Strategic partnership with industry bigwig sets the stage to propel Gateway Entertainment further into China’s sophisticated Arts & Entertainment Market

Singapore - In its continual efforts to expand and establish its footprint beyond Singapore’s shores, Gateway Entertainment (GE) has successfully reached a major strategic partnership agreement with China’s Juooo Theatre Management Pte Ltd (Juooo) - China’s largest and most influential performing arts agency. This unprecedented theatre collaboration affirms the traction the theatre to theatre has gained over the years - especially its illusion-theatre productions which have received international recognition and acclaim - from magic practitioners and producers to show buyers and theatre owners.

Teaming up with Juooo spearheads GE’s inroads into China as it seeks to bring its festive magic productions to an aggressive Arts & Entertainment market that is hungry for world-class entertainment. A major heavyweight and established player in China’s theatre scene, Juooo currently manages 23 theatres across China and is a stalwart contributor to China’s Arts & Entertainment landscape. The company focuses on show brokerage, while extending upstream and downstream of the entertainment industry chain - from show production and ticket sales to theatre operation. Founded in 2007, Juooo has cumulatively organised over 4,000 stage performances in 50 cities across China. And in 2011, it cemented its position as one of the largest players in China’s entertainment market by bringing over 40 shows to Shenzhen for its Autumn & Winter Art Season that involved plays, concerts, children’s entertainment and musicals. The company is currently seeking to further expand its theatre franchise network.

“This is a big win for us and a great opportunity to bring our uniquely Singapore productions to China,” enthused Gateway Entertainment’s Founder and Chairman Lawrence Khong. “Having the right strategic and reputable partner is an important piece of the engine to help drive our future ventures into China, and effectively seed the right interest among China’s discerning Arts & Entertainment aficionados.”

This partnership will see the first cultural exchange of shows when GE’s highly successful Christmas Magic hits the cities of Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Dongguan this coming December.
